Social/Recreational Activities
In addition to work opportunities, Yahara House provides evening, weekend, and holiday social and recreational programming.
Jam Group is open to anyone who is willing to play music together. This includes singing, drumming, percussion, guitar, keyboards, and dancing. No experience needed!

NAMI walk happens once a year! The community comes together to raise money and spred awareness to end stingma. It was an honor for us to be a part of the NAMI Walk 2024!

Work and Education Support Dinner is a space for colleagues working, in school, or hoping to do either to meet and talk about successes and barriers over a delicious meal.

Rec Events occur on a Saturday or Sunday from 12-3pm. Examples of previous rec events include going to the zoo, museums, movies, local festivals, bowling, and so much more!

Holidays
Yahara House is open from 12-3pm on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. We plan a meal to share at no cost. It is sometimes catered from a local restaurant, or if the weather is nice, we can grill outdoors. Holidays can be a challenging time for everyone, we love to spend them together!
Day of Giving Thanks is a special day the Wednesday before Thanksgiving where members, staff, and guests and enjoy a free, homemade, traditional Thanksgiving meal (there is also a vegetarian option).
